Barley and Beef Soup

It's Saturday morning, after doing an errand I decided to make a soup for brunch. This recipe is just so easy to make and has easy to find ingredients.


1. First, sauté the onion and chuck steak beef until onion is tender and beef is brown.

2. Add the chopped celery and carrots; cook for 5 mins and stir occasionally..

3. Stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds and add barley, beef broth, water, tomato purée (or tomato sauce), 2 bay leaves.

4. Add salt and pepper. I added powdered chili for spicy taste.

5. Bring to boil and simmer for 45 mins or until barley is tender.
